Slavic Girls – A Photography Experience Like No Other

As women, we often move through life giving so much of ourselves to others.
We manage, carry, organise, support, lead and somewhere along the way, we forget to make space for our own reflection.

That’s where the Slavic Girls project was born.

I’m Joanna Brierley, a polish portrait photographer and makeup artist based in North Yorkshire in a little village near Thirsk called Topcliffe, and I created this experience as a celebration of femininity.
A return to softness.
A return to you.

What is the Slavic Girls Photography Experience?

The Slavic Girls photoshoot is a unique, slow-paced photography session designed for women who want to reconnect with their femininity, their cultural roots, or simply want to experience something as unique as they are.

It’s not a rushed studio shoot.
It’s not a forced smile.
It’s a carefully held space with gentle guidance, meaningful styling, and deep attention. It’s time dedicated for you and only you.

Whether you identify with Slavic heritage or just feel drawn to the natural, earthy aesthetic and energy of the project, this session is for you.

This is a fully guided, deeply personal experience. Every Slavic Girls session includes:

📸 1-on-1 portrait session in a peaceful location – chosen to match your story and mood

Why I Created This Project

As a woman who left her homeland and built a life in a new country, I know the ache of disconnection.
But I also know the power of art, styling, and photography to help us feel whole again.

I created Slavic Girls not just to take photos ,but to help women feel seen , heard and beautiful in their natural essence.
It’s not about perfection. It’s about presence.

Each woman is unique, and so is her experience , which is why I offer a few packages, depending on how deeply you'd like to immerse yourself in the session. Whether you’re looking for a smaller, intimate moment with a few portraits, or a fuller storytelling experience with more images and personalised styling, there’s something to suit you.

All packages include makeup, hairstyling, styling support, and a calm, guided photoshoot. You can also choose to purchase additional photos or prints afterward — but only if your heart says yes.
